Bass-Reflex
A Bass reflex system (also known as a ported, vented box or reflex port) is a type of loudspeaker enclosure that uses the sound from the rear side of the diaphragm to increase the efficiency of the system at low frequencies as compared to a typical closed box loudspeaker or an infinite baffle mounting.
Built-in Amplifier
An Amplifier is a device that changes, usually increases, the amplitude of a signal. The "signal" is usually voltage or current. In popular use, the term today usually refers to an electronic amplifier, often as in audio applications. A related device that emphasizes conversion of signals of one type to another (for example, a light signal in photons to a DC signal in amperes) is a transducer, a transformer, or a sensor.
AVS
Audio Video Standard, or AVS, is a compression codec for digital audio and video, and is competing with H.264/AAC to potentially replace MPEG-2. The audio and video files have an .avs extension as a container format. The Paradigm DPS-3100 subwoofers contain the Audio Video Standard (AVS) with a die-cast heat sink chassis.
50-mm (2 in) 4-layer voice-coil
A voice coil (consisting of a bobbin, collar and winding) is the coil of wire attached to the apex of the cone of a loudspeaker. It provides the motive force to the cone by the reaction of a magnetic field to the current passing through it.
